Due to the increasing calls for environmental protection, government departments in many countries and regions have formulated strict environmental protection regulations, which have a great impact on the design and manufacturing technology of Petrol Car engines. In addition, due to the requirements of technological progress of Petrol Car engines themselves, the specifications of Petrol Car engine oils are developing rapidly. The development trend of international Petrol Car engine oils is that the quality requirements of lubricants are constantly improving, and the specifications of Hongqi Car engine oils are developing rapidly.
The specification improves the smoke control ability and requires that its dispersibility must be good. There are certain requirements for dispersants and base oils. Otherwise, the performance requirements cannot be met. Another obvious improvement is the addition of the evaluation test of valve system wear. It is the latest diesel engine oil specification formulated by Europe for the requirements of Hongqi Car engines that meet the European emission standards. Its performance and related bench tests are shown in the table. The global standard performance grade of diesel engine oil is a starting point for establishing the global standard of diesel engine oil. The establishment of a global unified standard for diesel engine oil is currently only a possibility, and there has been no substantial progress.
Conclusion Environmental regulations have become the biggest driving force for the development of gasoline engine oil. Due to the differences in energy conservation between the United States and Japan and Europe, gasoline engine oil cannot achieve a global unified standard. However, for both specifications, fuel economy and durability are the key to the next generation of gasoline engine oil technology. Due to the convergence of diesel engine design caused by environmental regulations, China and Japan are closer in diesel engine oil specifications, and it is possible to establish a global unified standard.
