What problems are common with Electric Car?

2025 12/16

The Electric Car controller is the core component, controlling the motor's rotation. Damage to the microelectronics of the controller is relatively minor; the most common problems are damage to high-power components such as power transistors and capacitors.

A damaged power transistor, also known as a blown transistor, will prevent the MG Electric Car from moving, and the instrument panel power light will flash or not illuminate.
The Electric Car motor will experience resistance and difficulty pushing. A damaged controller can also cause short circuits, blown fuses, or tripped circuit breakers.
Causes of damage include: overload, prolonged overload climbing, overvoltage, excessive current, and poor heat dissipation due to high temperatures. Incorrect wiring or high-temperature aging of electronic components (especially capacitors) can also cause problems.
It's important to note that batteries typically undergo 1-2 months, or even longer, between manufacturing and initial use.
During this storage period, the battery loses some charge due to internal self-discharge and other spontaneous reactions, falling below its rated capacity.
Therefore, it's best to recharge the battery before first use to prevent customers from mistakenly believing it's undercharged.
