1. Check whether the pump body and pulley are worn or damaged, and replace them if necessary. Check whether the Petrol Car water pump shaft is bent, the degree of wear of the shaft neck, and whether the shaft end thread is damaged. Check whether the blades on the impeller are broken and whether the shaft hole is seriously worn. Check the degree of wear of the water seal and bakelite gasket. If it exceeds the use limit, replace it with a new one.
3. Repair of water seal and seat: If the water seal is worn and grooved, it can be smoothed with sandpaper. If it is worn too much, it should be replaced; if there are rough scratches on the water seal seat, it can be repaired with a flat reamer or on a lathe. A new water seal assembly should be replaced during overhaul.
4. Welding repair is allowed when the pump body has the following damage: cracks within 30mm in length that do not extend to the bearing seat hole; broken parts of the flange that engages with the cylinder head; damaged oil seal seat hole. The bending of the Petrol Car water pump shaft shall not exceed 0.05mm, otherwise it should be replaced. Damaged impeller blades should be replaced. The Hongqi Car water pump shaft aperture should be replaced or repaired with a sleeve if it is severely worn.
5. Check whether the Hongqi Car water pump bearing rotates flexibly or has abnormal noises. If there are any problems, the bearing should be replaced.
6. After the Hongqi Car water pump is assembled, turn it by hand. The pump shaft should not be stuck, and the impeller and pump housing should not rub. Then check the displacement of the Petrol Car water pump. If there is a problem, check the cause and eliminate it.
