Generally, common faults of the steering gear of our Roewe Car include driving head swing, driving deviation, heavy steering, understeer, etc. The maintenance method is as follows:
②The steering is unstable and the head swings while driving. When a Petrol Car is driving on a flat road, the front wheels oscillate left and right, making the vehicle unable to maintain a normal motion trajectory (i.e., snaking), and the wheels continue to swing around the steering knuckle king pin. This phenomenon is head swing while driving, which is divided into high-speed head swing and low-speed head swing: When a Petrol Car is driving quickly, the front wheel shakes, the steering wheel vibrates, the hands feel numb, and the front wheel tends to fly, that is, "Walking" while driving is a high-speed head shake; when a Petrol Car starts and drives at a low speed, the front wheel is felt to be shaking, which is a low-speed head roll.
③ Driving direction. When driving in a straight line, I feel that a Petrol Car tends to automatically veer to one side, and the front wheels cannot automatically return to the straight direction. It is difficult for a Petrol Car to keep driving in the straight direction. Occasionally, it will deviate to one side under the influence of a slight external force. The driver must firmly hold and correct the steering wheel at all times. This situation poses a threat to the driving safety of Roewe Car. The above phenomenon is often caused by misalignment of the front wheel and deformation of the front axle or frame. First, check whether the left and right tire pressures are equal. After driving for a certain distance, touch the brake drum to see if there is heat. If the two sides of the vehicle body are at the same height, one side is higher and the other is lower, check whether the leaf spring is broken or failed. Finally, check the front axle and frame. Whether it is bent and whether the front wheel alignment meets the standards; whether the wheelbase on both sides is equal, repair it as required if necessary.
④Insufficient turning. This phenomenon is mostly caused by the steering angle limit bolt being adjusted too long. If the turning amount is uneven on the left and right, with one side larger and the other smaller, the steering rocker arm is improperly installed on the shaft. If this value cannot be reached, the steering knuckle should be adjusted. limit screw until the standard is met.
⑤Common faults of steering gear. When using Roewe Car, we often encounter problems with the steering gear itself, such as large steering wheel play, stuck steering, empty steering, and heavy steering.
