Emergency treatment of spark plug failure in Petrol Car

2025 08/27

The oil stains on the plug are caused by lubricating oil, and the breakage on the top of the insulator may be caused by low gasoline grade. When maintaining a Petrol Car, pay more attention to the condition of the spark plugs. Spark plugs with excellent performance can improve the vehicle's power performance. The service life of spark plugs is generally 15,000 kilometers, and the service life of long-term spark plugs does not exceed 30,000 kilometers. However, many car owners often have some problems with their spark plugs and cannot reach their normal service life.

In fact, spark plugs operate at quite high temperatures. When a Petrol Car engine is running normally, the temperature of the spark plug insulator skirt is generally maintained between 500-600 degrees Celsius. Temperatures that are too high or too low will have adverse effects on the spark plug. When the temperature of the spark plug is too low, the insulator on the spark plug is prone to carbon deposits, which will eventually cause leakage and fire. If the spark plug operating temperature is too high, it can easily cause pre-ignition and knocking of the gasoline engine. At the Roewe Car training camp, the staff of the specialty store classified the common faults of spark plugs into two types. One is that the spark plug is severely ablated, and the other is that there are deposits on the spark plug.
When car owners find that the tip of the spark plug is scarred or damaged, and the spark plug melts and erodes, this indicates that the spark plug has been damaged and the spark plug should be replaced at this time. Car owners can check for symptoms of spark plug ablation and color changes during replacement.
1. Electricity melts and the insulator turns white
This phenomenon indicates that the combustion chamber is too high. This may be due to excessive carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, causing the valve clearance to be too small, which may cause the exhaust valve to overheat or the cooling device to work poorly. When the spark plug is not tightened according to the specified torque, it can also cause electrofusion and whitening of the insulator.
2. The current becomes rounded and the insulator becomes scarred.
This shows that the gasoline engine burns prematurely, which may be caused by premature ignition time, low gasoline octane number, high spark plug calorific value, etc.
3. Crack at the top of the insulator
Generally speaking, deflagration is the main cause of insulator rupture. However, premature ignition time, low octane number of gasoline, and excessively high combustion chamber may cause knocking and combustion of Petrol Car engines.
4. There are gray and black stripes on the top of the insulator.
The appearance of this stripe indicates that the spark plug has leaked and the owner needs to replace it unconditionally.
