Do you know the dangers of burning and carbonizing the brake pads of Petrol Car?

2026 02/04

Petrol Car brake pad manufacturers have discovered that braking should be one of the most common functions in our daily use. However, as mechanical parts, we will encounter some problems more or less, such as noise, vibration, odor and smoke. But some people say that the brake pads of my Honda Car are burnt. Isn`t it strange? That`s the so-called Honda Car. Brake pads are carbonized.

The friction components of brake pads are made of various metal fibers, organic substances, resin fibers and adhesives through high-temperature reaction die-casting. The braking of Petrol Car is carried out through the friction between the brake pad and the brake disc, and the friction will inevitably generate heat energy.
When the temperature reaches a certain value, we will find brake smoke, accompanied by a pungent smell similar to burning plastic. When the temperature exceeds the high temperature critical point of Honda Car brake pads, Honda Car brake pads contain hydrogen and oxygen containing carbon-containing organic matter, such as phenolic resin, styrene-butadiene masterbatch, stearic acid, etc. It falls off in the form of water molecules, leaving only a small amount of carbon mixture containing phosphorus, silicon, etc. So it looks gray-black after carbonization, in other words, it is burnt.
1. As the Honda Car brake pads carbonize, the friction material of the Honda Car brake pads will turn into powder and fall off quickly until it is completely burned out. At this time, the braking effect gradually weakens;
2. The brake disc is oxidized and deformed at high temperature. The deformation will cause vibration and abnormal noise at the rear of the Petrol Car during high-speed braking.
3. Excessive temperature will cause the brake cylinder seal to deform and the brake oil temperature to rise. In severe cases, the brake cylinder will be damaged and the brakes will not be able to brake.
